Key Duties
Respond to and intervene during crisis situations, including mental, emotional, and domestic challenges
Provide social, emotional, behavior, and mental support for local community member(s) during crisis intervention
Participate in required trainings to ensure compassionate, culturally competent service delivery
Engage in neighborhood outreach to build trust with community members and local organizations
Participate in ongoing 1-on-1 supervision with Community Response Coordinator
Participate in regular organizational meetings with fellow peer responders and the response team supervisor
Provide short-term case management and referrals to community-based organizations
Additional duties / changing duties based may be determined in consultation with the Community Response Coordinator and Director
The Rochester Daniel’s Law Community Advisory Board is seeking a Community Responder to begin Fall 2025. This position will be part of a non-police response team that will intervene and provide support services to community members during crisis situations. Following a successful pilot period, the program will expand its team, scope, and hours.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of work experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed services, and or related fields (i.e. Counseling, Social Work, Care Coordination and Management, Trauma Intake Clinic, etc.)
Work experience(s) delivering peer support or trauma-informed care and support in social services and/or clinical settings
Ability to make decisions and respond during crisis situations
Ability to provide quality services in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and community members
Respect and compassion for vulnerable people and individuals during crisis situation
Multilingual (preferred, but not required)
Compensation
Salary Range: 50,000-60,000
This is a full-time exempt position for one year. Reappointment will be determined by the Director and Community Advisory Board, and subject to available funding.
