About the Job
The Rochester Daniel’s Law Community Advisory Board is seeking a Community Response Coordinator to begin Fall 2025. This position will coordinate and supervise a team of non-police crisis responders as part of a one year pilot program in Rochester’s Southwest neighborhoods. Following a successful pilot period, the program will expand its team, scope, and hours.
Key Duties
Supervises response team members in the day-to-day implementation of high quality crisis response services
Coaches and supports responders, to ensure healthy work experience and professional development
Provides 1:1 and group supervision to responder team
Collaborates with Director to ensure staff coverage, appropriate protocol, and staff debriefing
Responds to community members in crisis, including mental, emotional, and domestic challenges
Functions as a member of interdisciplinary team; provides direct counseling services and/or case management to program participants as needed
Builds and maintains strong collaborative working relationships with community partners throughout the City of Rochester
Additional duties / changing duties based may be determined in consultation with the Director
Qualifications
At least 5 years of work experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed services, and or related fields (i.e. Counseling, Social Work, Peer Support, Peer Supervision, Care Coordination and Management, Trauma Intake Clinic, etc.)
At least 3 years of work experience providing direct supervision to peers or mental health workers
Work experience(s) delivering trauma-informed care and support in community-based settings, social services and/or clinical settings
Experience making decisions and responding during crisis situations
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and/or with community members
Ability to manage fast-paced work environment
Respect and compassion for people living with mental health and substance use diagnoses
Multilingual (preferred, but not required)
Compensation
Salary Range: 60,000-70,000
This is a full-time exempt position for one year. Reappointment will be determined by the Director and Community Advisory Board, and subject to available funding.
